I dig into what happened, why and where Chronocide is going.

What happened? I suppose the first thing people would want to know is where have you been? Why did Chronocide (CC moving forward) die off? Both valid questions and for what it’s worth and maybe it’ll seem like a cop out but often times the truth of the matter tends to be pretty underwhelming. There was no big fall out between the members or anything we are all still super tight. I think life just got in the way. We could not find time to make CC a priority. When that happens to a passion project in my opinion it’s better to take a step back and let it go for a while till you can reassess the situation and come up with a proper long term solution.
What changed? I cannot speak for the other guys so I’ll just talk from my perspective. One of CC’s members recently started up his own Blog, which inspired me. You can find it over at www.metaversers.com and it really made me think about the reasons why CC died. I keep coming back to the fact that I just think I didn’t fully grasp the time and dedication required for my initial vision for CC. I also was putting a lot on my peers and for whatever reason; I thought we could manage full time jobs, social life and a podcast/blog without any of them suffering for it.
Where do we go from here? I think I’m going to take some ques from my buddy and trim down the vision to fit the reality of my life. I won’t be posting every other day or maybe not every week, podcasts will be special and infrequent as well. I enjoy doing this, but there’s not always time for it. I also won’t be trying to friend-source CC’s posts just to have content, I will post when I can, what’s the point of owning something if you’re a slave to it? The good news is that my passion for all the things that led to me creating CC haven’t gone anywhere I still love video games, movies and TV shows. (I’m looking at you Netflix you dirty girl you) and 2018 seems like the proverbial JACKPOT in terms of quality content coming in the next few months. I will be posting on as much of it as I can get to. The take away is that CC will be evolving moving forward so stay tuned.
As always, thanks for killing some time with me and I’ll catch you on the next one!
