You may also remember Larson in her role as Molly in 21 Jump Street - she was the girl Jonah Hill was into. This is still in the early stages and negotiations are still up in the air, but according to IGN, Marvel Studios wanted to cast the role of Captain Marvel before selecting the director and it definitely seems like they found their gal. Personally, I think Larson would be a great choice. I thought she absolutely amazing in The Room, not to mention she's very funny, as we saw in 21 Jump Street. Anyways, we should be seeing some more news about who will be playing Captain Marvel and also who will be directing it soon. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said last month that they would announce a director for the film in the next month or two. They do have a director in mind apparently. According to IGN, they met up with indie filmmaker Elizabeth Wood. Wood is known for her Sundance Film which received the Grand Jury Prize Nomination at the festival in February and also her recent deal with Netflix. I don’t know much about Wood but according to a lot of people in the community, they definitely would like to see her as the director. Fingers crossed!

In more movie news with a side of gaming, Ubisoft is reportedly working on a film based of one its recent titles, The Division. According to Variety, after The Division's record breaking sales and being one of the company's best selling games, Ubisoft is already developing a movie based off the game. What's more exciting is we could be seeing Jake Gyllenhaal as the leading star and a Producer. The Divison is set in a dystopian New York City found in the aftermath of a weaponized smallpox pandemic. The player, who is an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division, commonly referred to as simply “The Division,” is tasked with helping to rebuild the Division’s operations in Manhattan, investigating the nature of the outbreak and also combating the criminal activity in its wake. I absolutely loved the story in The Division. From the echoes to the lost cell phones, Ubisoft did an amazing job and I think a movie would be a great idea! Its true that most movies based on video games don’t really do so well, but honestly I believe that the Division would work well and to top it all off with an amazing actor like Gyllenhaal would be fantastic. And yes, I know what your going to say, "didn’t Jake Gyllenhaal play in the mediocre Prince of Persia Film?". You're right, he did and admittedly, the movie wasn’t good. But I don't think it was bad and I still think he did an amazing job acting. If you think about it, this is big for Ubisoft because only a few weeks ago they dropped the first Assassins Creed Movie Trailer which I thought was pretty awesome. Does this mean we are we going to see something new with Ubisoft? Because honestly, a lot of their games are movie worthy - *cough* Splinter Cell *cough*.

Bonus News! Pokémon has released their first trailer of Pokémon Sun and Moon, which reveals two new legendary Pokémon. The first is Solagleo, the emissary of the sun, who is a psychic and steel type Pokémon and the second is Lunala, the emissary of the moon, who is a psychic and ghost type Pokémon. Both of these Pokémon look awesome, but Solagleo looks like a bad ass space lion. So if you’re a fan of same Pokémon game every year (sorry that was harsh), then you will get to play both of these new titles - because lets face it, you don’t just buy one - on November 18th of this year!

How do you guys feel about Brie Larson playing Captain Marvel? Is The Division movie a good a idea? What do you think? Is there a better game or a game you would like to see made on film?
